The Island Art Center is a multi disciplinary art school. We offer classes in three basic arts, music, movement,
and visual. The Island art center is taught apprenticeship style in terms of teaching and learning. This is what we call
ritual transmission of information via teacher to student. Classes are kept small to provide the best form of study and
teaching.
The Island Art Center is a unique art school in that in not only teaches art, it develops the artist at a core level. Emphasis is placed on the "seed of creative action" this seed can be applied to virtually any art process or skill.

A two-hour class two times a week (one day a week program also available) where children learn important lessons in self-protection and self esteem while exploring their limitless creativity. Entering its seventh year, this popular program has expanded to four different sections designed to best fit you and your child.

SPECIAL TWO-DAY SUMMER CAMP
Ages 4 and up. Art & Motion Two day camp Monday and Tuesday 8/30 and 8/31 from 9 am to 1 pm. The first day of school is September 1st. This two-day camp is just what you need to get ready - TIME! Leave your children with us while you take care of all those getting ready school year lists. Your kids will get a chance to enjoy summertime freedom for two more days. Limitless creativity in the art room, free time and Aikido in the dojo, late blackberries to pick, frogs to catch and bubbles to blow This is also a great introduction to the Art Center's school year Art and Motion program.
